After much experimentation I am thrilled with this new white wine - crisp and vibrant with refreshing citrus notes and a light golden color. Made by blending Piquepoul and Sauvignon Blanc grapes from the vineyards of myself and my cousins, then processed using a gentle rotating press method, that allows minimal exposure of oxygen to the wine, reducing the need for adding so many sulphites and stabilisers, thus achieving a clean, healthier wine.

Les Belles

This is the Pinet grown wine that launched Domaine Romain Julbe. From my 80,000 vines, I select only 2,000 yielding my best Piquepoul grapes to create this carefully balanced summery wine - delicate notes of floral and citrus plus a hint of acidity to give a crisp, fresh tang. These grapes are grown without artificial irrigation to intensify their flavour, then processed with minimal added sulphites to achieve a clean, healthier wine.

Cuvée les Granges

Our latest Sauvignon Blanc edition using a variety of grapes that are also being grown in central and southern France and northern Spain. However they take on a remarkably different taste profile when grown in the Pinet region with no artificial irrigation. This is a favourite amongst some of my family who feel it pairs particularly well with chicken and barbecued white fish, along with our local oysters and mussels. It is a gently aromatic, lightly biting white wine.

Made from Piquepoul grapes, this juice is a delicious drink served slightly chilled, over ice, or when used as a mixer - very popular with people seeking a healthy, natural juice that isn't overloaded with sugar and sweeteners. It has a slightly toasty aroma that gently coats the mouth, and can accompany all types of food at all times of the day, or simply to quench your thirst anytime. It has also been of interest for those who want to join their wine drinking friends without the alcohol element.

Sparkling white wine - concept

From our 2026 harvest I am planning to develop a high quality sparkling white wine. Respecting the natural flavours of Piquepoul I'm hoping to achieve a dry, finely bubbled and layered finish - stay posted for developments!

Local Pinet olive oil - concept

Given that our family vineyards are surrounded by beautiful olive trees, I'd like to start harvesting those fruits to make classic olive oils. I'm on the hunt for an affordable specialist olive press currently - stay posted for developments!

Healthier Wines

If you've been paying attention to the fine print on wine labels in recent years, you will have noticed a quiet shift. More and more producers are advertising "low sulphites", "made without added sulphites" or "minimal intervention". It has become something of a selling point, but what does it actually mean, and why does it matter?

Vineyard Tours

Walk among the vines and learn about grape varieties, our growing, harvesting and production techniques; and the realities of life as a vigneron - if during the course of each year we can survive every challenge from Mother Nature, the backbreaking efforts certainly seem to be worthwhile when we can stop to enjoy a bottle with friends.

Wine Tastings

Savor our exclusive white wines paired with a seafood platter or regional cheeses.

Life as a winemaker, full of romance?

For people who have never been winemakers, there is an imaginative version of sunlit afternoons among the vines, a glass of something beautiful in hand, the natural rhythm of seasons unfolding at a gentle and civilised pace. It is indeed a warm and romantic image. Parts of it are even true.

But let me tell you about January and February which means earnest pruning in Pinet. Every single vine, by hand, in weather that newcomers don't anticipate from a Mediterranean lifestyle. It is cold and damp with the kind of chill that gets into your joints by mid-morning and stays there until sleep. Eighty thousand vines do not prune themselves.....
